Plugin Settings
One screen controls which blocks your site loads and which fonts they use. Changes apply to the editor and the front end as soon as you save.
Opening the settings screen
In your WordPress dashboard, click Brigade Blocks in the admin menu (the grid icon, just above Appearance). You can also click Settings under Brigade Blocks Addons on the Plugins screen. Only administrators (users with the manage_options capability) can open it.
At the top, three numbers summarise your setup: Active modules, Active blocks and modules On the roadmap.
Modules
Each module is shown as a card with its name, a description, a switch and the list of its blocks.
- Module switch
- Turns the whole module on or off. Off removes all of its blocks from the editor and the front end — no blocks, scripts or styles are registered. Content already saved in your posts is kept and comes back when you switch the module on again.
- “N of M blocks on”
- How many of the module’s blocks are enabled.
- Block chips
- One checkbox per block. Untick a block to remove just that block. Hover a chip to read the block’s description. Inner blocks (for example Accordion Item or Tab) have no chip of their own: they follow their parent block.
- Enable all / Disable all
- Tick or untick every block chip of that module in one click (remember to save).
- Requires …
- Modules that depend on another plugin say so, e.g. “Requires WooCommerce to be installed and active. Its blocks stay unregistered until then.”
- Coming next
- Some cards list blocks planned for future releases of that module.
- PRO badge
- Marks modules and blocks that come with the separate Brigade Blocks Addons Pro add-on. The badge stays when Pro is active, so you always know which blocks are Pro.
Pro modules and blocks while Pro is not active
Pro modules and blocks are always listed, so you can see what Pro includes. Until Pro is running they are locked: the card has a dashed border, the switch and chips are greyed out with a lock, and they cannot be turned on. The card says why and offers one button:
- Get Pro — Pro is not installed. Opens the Pro product page in a new tab.
- Activate Pro — Pro is installed but not activated (shown to users who can activate plugins).
- Update Pro — Pro is active but too old for this version of Brigade Blocks Addons.
Once Pro is active, its modules and blocks work like any other, with the PRO badge kept. Switches you set for Pro blocks are remembered while Pro is inactive.
Current modules:
- Content — 14 blocks: Container, Heading, Text Editor, Image, Image Box, Icon, Icon Box, Button, Divider, Spacer, Video, Google Maps, HTML, Shortcode.
- Interactive — 6 blocks: Accordion, Tabs, Slider, Content Toggle, Timeline, Process Steps.
- Marketing — 4 blocks: Call to Action, Counter, Flip Box, Progress Bar.
- Posts — 3 blocks: Posts, Author Box, Dynamic Content.
- Media — 3 blocks: Gallery, Before / After, Video Gallery.
- People — 2 blocks: Team Member, Testimonials.
- Navigation — 2 blocks: Breadcrumbs, Table of Contents.
- WooCommerce — 6 blocks: Products, Product Categories, Add to Cart, Mini Cart, Product Search, Store Page.
- Forms — 3 blocks: Form Styler, Login Form, User Profile.
- Advanced — 2 blocks: Advanced Search, Taxonomy Filter.
- Utilities — 2 blocks: Social Icons, WhatsApp Chat.
- Data Visualization — 3 blocks: Chart, Progress Chart, Statistics Cards.
Tip: switching a module or block off is the best way to keep your site lean — disabled blocks load no CSS or JavaScript at all. It is also safe: nothing in your posts is deleted.
What happens when a block is switched off?
- The block disappears from the inserter.
- Copies already on your pages stop being displayed on the site (blocks that hold other blocks show only their inner content). In the editor they appear as unsupported blocks — leave them as they are if you plan to switch the block on again.
- Switch it back on and everything is displayed exactly as before.
- Blocks added in future plugin updates are switched on automatically; your “off” choices are always kept.
Design
Blocks use the Donix style system: coral accent, ink headings and 6px corners. Themes can override any design token with CSS custom properties (see Design tokens).
Block typography
- Donix — Urbanist default
- Loads the bundled Urbanist font from your own server, only on pages that use a block. No request goes to Google Fonts or any other service.
- Inherit from theme
- Blocks use your theme’s fonts. No font files are loaded. Choose this if your brand uses a different typeface.
You can still change the font of any single element in the Styles tab (Typography panel).
Roadmap
When whole modules are planned for upcoming releases, a Roadmap section lists them (marked Planned); it is hidden when there are none. Each arrives as an independent module you can switch on or off. Planned modules have no switch yet. Blocks planned for an existing module are listed on that module’s card as Coming next.
Saving
Click Save changes in the bar at the bottom. The page saves without reloading: the button shows Saving…, then Settings saved. appears next to it and the counts at the top update. If saving fails, the message says why (for example an expired session — reload the page and try again). Changes apply to the editor and the front end immediately — reload any open editor tab to see added or removed blocks.
